A licensed firearm holder was today taken into custody by the police in connection with the shooting of a neighbour, including in his head, during a dispute in Papine, St Andrew.
The incident happened along Tavern Avenue and was captured on security camera.
The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Norris Farquharson, who worked for a utility company.
In the video, the man in custody is seen confronting Farquharson, who is wearing a hard hat and a workman's vest, reportedly about being in his yard.
The Gleaner was informed that they both live at the same address in a yard.
Farquharson pointed out that they were both now standing in the lane, away from the premises.
An argument ensued.
“Lic me nuh, lic me. Lic me and draw gun pan me nuh. Lic me,"said Farquharson.
The other man stepped back, reached for his waistband, pulled a gun, and opened fire, hitting Farquharson twice, who fell to the ground.
“A knife yuh draw pan me boi,” said the man repeatedly while still with the gun in his and as he spoke to persons who rushed from their homes to see what was happening.
Farquharson was transported to the University Hospital of the West Indies, where he was pronounced dead.
