Credit Unions of Jamaica back Brithney Clarke for Miss Kingston & St Andrew Festival Queen title
The Credit Unions of Jamaica has selected to support, Brithney Clarke, one of twelve aspiring contestants vying for the coveted title of Miss Kingston & St Andrew Festival Queen. The selection and announcement was made at the recent Mayoral Reception and Sashing Ceremony for the competition, held on May 14.
Clarke, a dynamic media practitioner, writer, and entrepreneur, is recognised for her diverse talents and unwavering dedication to personal and community improvement. Her commitment to trailblazing and innovation perfectly aligns with this year’s festival theme, ‘The Jamaican Woman: Proud & Bold.’
“Brithney is a true representative of this year’s theme,” stated Katrina Grant D’Aguilar, group marketing and communication manager at the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League, who made the selection on behalf of the Credit Unions of Jamaica. “We are proud to support her as our cultural ambassador and eagerly anticipate her journey throughout the competition.”
The Credit Unions of Jamaica continue to support the Jamaica Festival Queen competition as it shares the same goals and ideals of the co-operative movement: community involvement and working together to achieve a common goal. This mission also aligns with that of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), which aims ‘to enhance national development through cultural practices by creating opportunities that unearth, develop, preserve, and promote the creative talents and expressions of the Jamaican people’.
The grand coronation of the Jamaica Festival Queen is scheduled for June 28, at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
