Minister of National Security, Dr Horace Chang, today revealed that the count from the massive gun find at a warehouse in Kingston has reached a tally of 233 firearms.

Chang, speaking at a post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, disclosed that the seizure includes 74 rifles and 150 handguns.

Further, he disclosed that the count of the ammunition has so far reached 40,000, with the count ongoing.

Chang lauded the work of the police and the Jamaica Customs Agency in intercepting the guns and ammunition and highlighted the Government's investments in security.

The guns and ammunition were reportedly found inside an industrial-size water heater at a warehouse on Industrial Terrace in Kingston.

Chang said the security forces will go after the person or persons behind the shipment and declined to share more citing the sensitive nature of the investigation.
