'Rush' charged for 2023 fatal gun attack in Constitution Hill, St Andrew
Twenty-nine-year-old Rushane Douglas, otherwise called ‘Rush’, was on Friday charged by the police for the shooting of two men, one fatally, in Constitution Hill, St Andrew in January 2023.
Douglas is charged with murder, wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, using a firearm to commit a felony, and unauthorised possession of ammunition.
The shooting happened on January 29, 2023, in Gordon Hill in Constitution Hill, and saw the death of 39-year-old Anthony Clarke, otherwise called ‘Delly’, a security guard of Upper Rose Lane in Hannah Town in Kingston.
The police report that about 12:30 p.m., Douglas had a dispute with Clarke and that during the altercation, Douglas used a firearm to shoot Clarke.
Another man who was nearby was also shot.
A report was made to the police and Clarke and the injured man were taken to hospital, where Clarke was pronounced dead and the man was admitted for treatment.
During the investigation, Douglas was arrested.
He was charged on Friday, May 30, after he was interviewed in the presence of his attorney.
His court date has not been finalised.
