Discovery Bay All-Age School staff, teachers, parents, Kiwanis Club members and Discovery Bauxite employees worked on building a ‘Wellness Garden’ at the school on Labour Day. The garden is being laid out on a bed of ‘pea gravel’ stones to provide a base for potted plants embedded in vehicle tyres. Principal Marcella Bryan (front row, left) said the surface stones will smooth a path for children to walk across the garden over land which was formerly a dust bowl. Relaxing with the team during a mid-morning break are Bryan and Nadine Stupart (front row, fifth left), PTA president. Discovery Bauxite was a major sponsor of the project.
