The Trelawny police have charged a 14-year-old girl with housebreaking and larceny following an incident at a primary school in Wakefield in the parish on Saturday.

The Falmouth police say about 1:40 a.m., a team was on patrol when strange activities were observed on the school compound and members went to investigate.

During their investigation, two minors were reportedly seen forcing open a classroom window and entering the building.

The police say they were further seen leaving the building with items, such as a standing fan, hard-cover notebooks, two cases of pencils and juices.

They were subsequently taken into custody and their guardians were contacted.

Following an investigation, the girl was charged while the other minor is to be placed before the court as a child in need of care and protection.
