Mechanic succumbs to gunshot injuries

Police investigators have upgraded a case of shooting to murder after the victim succumbed to injuries suffered in an attack more than two weeks ago.

Thirty-nine-year-old mechanic, Dwayne Dacres, died at the Kingston Public Hospital on Monday.

Reports are that about 9:30 p.m. on June 5, Dacres was shot and injured by unknown assailants in 12 Miles, Bull Bay, St Andrew.

His attackers fled and he was later transported to hospital.

The Yallahs Criminal Investigations Branch in St Thomas has launched a probe into the matter.
