Three residents of Pondside district in Yallahs, St Thomas, have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon following the seizure of three imitation firearms during a police operation on Monday.

They are 21-year-old Chardonay McKenzie, 27-year-old videographer Omar Vincent, otherwise called ‘Zoompic’, and 44-year-old Niakeisha 'Keisha' Blake.

Detectives assigned to the St Thomas Criminal Investigation Branch say that about 5 a.m. yesterday, a team of officers, armed with a search warrant, conducted an intelligence-led operation at the house occupied by the accused.

During the search, three imitation firearms were found inside a room, resulting in the arrest of all three individuals.

They were later questioned in the presence of their attorney before being formally charged, a statement said today.
