A minor earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.1 was felt in Jamaica at 12:23 a.m. on Saturday.

According to the Earthquake Unit at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, the tremor was located near Golden Spring in St Andrew.

It had a focal depth of 9 kilometres.

The unit has confirmed the quake was felt in sections of St Andrew.
