Sherie Peart, project coordinator, Pocket Rocket Foundation (PRF), presents a symbolic cheque valued at $100,000 to Damarie Palmer, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Youth Football League Champions Cup, during the finals on June 21 at the UWI Mona Bowl. The presentation formed part of PRF’s partnership with the Youth Football League Champions Cup, through which the tournament’s MVP is awarded an academic scholarship valued at $100,000 per academic year. Palmer, whose team also claimed the championship title, will begin receiving the scholarship in second form and continue through to sixth form.
