Man charged after stolen vehicle recovered in police chase

A 27-year-old Corporate Area man has been charged after he was allegedly caught driving a vehicle that was stolen in Portmore, St Catherine and he attempted to elude the police.

Timothy Laughton, otherwise known as Timmy', of Chisolm Avenue in St Andrew, was on Tuesday charged with simple larceny.

A court date is to be set.

According to reports from the Hunts Bay Police, around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, cops from the St Andrew South Division observed Laughton driving a black Subaru Impreza G4 motor car along Spanish Town Road after they received a radio transmission informing them that it was stolen.

The car was reportedly stolen from Park Circle East in Passage Fort, Portmore, St Catherine.

Police signalled Laughton to stop; however, he allegedly disobeyed and attempted to flee.

They pursued the vehicle and intercepted it along the thoroughfare.

Laughton was removed from the vehicle, taken into custody, and later charged.
