AK-15 rifle seized at house in Portmore, man charged

A Portmore, St Catherine man has been charged over the alleged seizure of an AR-15 rifle at his dwelling.

He is 40-year-old technician Fabian Turner, who has been charged with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

Reports from the Portmore police are that about 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, a team conducted a search of the premises during an operation in the area.

During the search, an AR-15 rifle with a magazine containing four 5.56 mm rounds of ammunition was found in a bus seat that was on the veranda, according to the police.

Turner was taken into custody, where he was subsequently charged.

His court date is being finalised.
