JLP Rally | JLP will fulfil bypass commitments if re-elected, says Morgan

The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) will follow through with plans to construct bypass roads in several major towns if it retains state power after Wednesday’s general election, minister with responsibility for works, Robert Morgan, has pledged.
Mammee Bay, St Ann; Spur Tree, Manchester; Port Antonio, Portland; and Lucea, Hanover, are among the towns where bypass roads are to be built, Morgan said on Sunday during a JLP mass rally in Spanish Town, St Catherine.
He stated, too, that there are plans to extend the highway in Williamsfield, Manchester, through to the border of Westmoreland.
“So all the farmers dem from St Elizabeth know say it ago cheaper fi carry you goods go a Coronation Market. The businessman a Westmoreland you nuh haffi spend so much money pan gas fi transport yuh goods,” he said.
“We a build up Jamaica road by road, lane by lane. This is what a government that cares about people does,” Morgan said.
