JLP Rally | 'We will never surrender Jamaica to the PNP,' McKenzie says

The Jamaica Labour Party's representative in Kingston Western, Desmond McKenzie, says the JLP is not afraid as it faces electors on Wednesday, even as he urged supporters to transfer the energy at Sunday's mass rally in St Catherine to the ballot boxes.

"We are not afraid! We don't mind people who want to badmind us. One thing we will say to them is that we will never surrender Jamaica to the PNP to mash up Jamaica again," said McKenzie to uproar from thousands who gathered at the mass rally.

"Labourites, Jamaicans, we have come too far. The Andrew Holness government has done wonders for Jamaica since 2016," he chanted.

"Jamaica is moving in the right direction, Jamaica is in the best place it could ever want to be. Jamaica is good, Andrew Holness is good, the only thing bad for Jamaica is the People's National Party," he said, encouraging "good thinking, honest Jamaicans" to give the JLP a third term.

On Sunday tree branches were not immune to the onslaught of supporters who broke and waved them high as they chanted "third term!" for the JLP.

"Three terms because we need a better Jamaica. Him (Dr Christopher Tufton) help me a lot, and give me water in my community. There is more he will do," said Jenice Minzie, a resident of Old Works, Point Hill, St Catherine.
