On August 28, the Manchester Co-operative Credit Union (1977) Limited (MCCU) awarded a total of $2.6m in bursaries and prizes to support students for the 2025/2026 academic year. Twenty-five PEP bursaries were given to assist students transitioning to the secondary level. In addition, 12 tertiary students were awarded one-off bursaries to help offset tuition expenses at universities across Jamaica. The credit union also recognised and awarded the first-, second- and third-place winners of its recently concluded Primary-Level Essay and Poster Competitions. These students and their respective schools received cash prizes totalling $224,000. The awards ceremony was held at Neil’s Auditorium in Mandeville, Manchester.
