Reported autistic child hit by vehicle in video-recorded incident

A 15-year-old student of the Llandilo School of Special Education, is currently in intensive care after being hit by a vehicle along the Nonpariel main road in Negril, Westmoreland, on Monday afternoon.

Reports are that around 5 p.m., the child, who is reported to be autistic, was seen on video playing and running repeatedly across the roadway when he was struck.

He was rushed to the Savanna-La-Mar Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Further details surrounding the incident are being investigated.
