A 38-year-old Kingston teacher has been charged after the police reportedly found a firearm, ammunition, and imitation guns at his Colbeck Avenue home on Saturday.

He has been identified as Yraerc Creary, said a police statement issued on Sunday. He was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition.

The Hunts Bay Police say the seizure was made about 5:45 a.m., during a search by a team on operation in the area. During the search, one 9mm pistol and fourteen 9mm rounds were found in a clothes basket in the bedroom.

The statement added that further checks led to the discovery of four imitation firearms in a safe, two projectiles on a dresser, along with two ballistic vests and a face mask.

The items were seized, and Creary was taken into custody and later charged.
