The Caribbean Community of Retired Persons (CCRP), led by their Executive Chair and Founder, Jean Lowrie-Chin, journeyed to western Jamaica on November 11 to deliver much-needed care packages to elderly citizens impacted by Hurricane Melissa. Using the $800,000 earned from their NDTC benefit in July, CCRP mobilised a widespread relief effort in partnership with Food For The Poor. Last week, the CCRP-PROComm team headed to the west with three vehicles packed with food, water, hygiene items, and other essential supplies, bound for areas in Westmoreland. Here, Angela Patterson (left), CCRP general manager, and team hand over care items for distribution to Odette Coates (second left), a member of staff at the NCSC office in Savanna-la-Mar.
