Update | Body found in canal in St Catherine identified as Spanish Town security guard

The St Catherine North police have identified the body of the man who was found floating in a canal on Tuesday.

He is 39-year-old security guard Michael Patterson, otherwise known as 'Bupsy', of Ensom City in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Patterson’s partially decomposed body was discovered partially submerged in a canal in Hartlands district.

Reports are that about 12:30 p.m., the police were alerted to the scene by passers-by who stumbled upon Patterson’s body in the waterway.

The scene was processed, and the body was removed.
