St Catherine policewoman dies; hailed as 'disciplinarian'
Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force are mourning the death of a colleague who passed away on Thursday afternoon at the Spanish Town Hospital in St Catherine.
Dead is Sergeant Leline Golding, who was attached to the Spanish Town Police Station in the St Catherine North Division.
Golding, who worked at the station’s cell block, became ill last year after suffering a stroke and had been in and out of medical care.
Her condition worsened after she began experiencing seizures. She was admitted to the Spanish Town Hospital, where she later succumbed.
Head of the St Catherine North Police Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Hopton Nicholson, said Golding’s death has deeply affected members of the division.
“She was a dedicated member of staff; disciplinarian who contributed to the station and by extension the division. She will be sadly missed. We wish her colleagues and loved ones heartfelt condolences,” SSP Nicholson said.
