Clarendon woman charged in drug bust granted bail
A Clarendon woman who is charged in connection with a multi-million dollar drug bust in the parish two months ago, was granted $800,000 bail on Tuesday.
Elsiea O'Connor is answering to charges of breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act, possession of criminal property, and customs violations.
She was granted bail on condition that she reports to the May Pen Police, surrenders her travel documents, and reappears in court on April 28 when the matter will again be mentioned.
Attorney-at-Law Donahue Martin made the successful bail application.
It is alleged that about 2:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026, police conducted an operation in the Palmetto Pen area of the parish.
During a search, ganja weighing 162 pounds, bulk rum, uncustomed cigarettes, and approximately $5 million in cash were seized.
O’Connor was taken into custody, and following further investigation and a question-and-answer session, she was subsequently charged.
