Style 180: Inspector Yvonne Roofe
In celebration of Gleaner's 180th anniversary, we continue with our Style 180 feature to showcase the evolution of individuals? styles and trends. This week, we feature the transition of Inspector Yvonne Roofe, who has come a far way in a few decades, but still loves being conservative and fashionable.
I liked the 1970s. It was a good fashion year for me, when bonded knit and crimplene were the in thing. Crimplene is a heavy, wrinkle-resistant material that I never had to iron. It looked fashionable for that era and everyone was wearing it. It was just a 'put on and go' outfit that I really liked.
I would say my style is simple but fashionable. I like to wear unusual things that are fashionable and modest at the same time.
The one thing I can't live without is jeans, especially bell foot pants. It was my favourite, still is. It can be worn with almost anything and it's easy to just put on and go. Not to mention the nice, sexy, fashionable feeling it gives.
To be honest, baby doll and mini dress are just not for me. They are a little too exposed for my taste and they give a ghetto fabulous feel that I am just not one with.
