Jennifer McDonald celebrates

Jennifer McDonald has not aged much, and could easily be the envy of younger women. Yet the dynamic woman, described as an advocate, diplomat, mother, and minister, won't even entertain the word 'age'.
In her book, age is just a number. She is more focused on the impact she has made on the many lives she has touched.
Last Saturday night, McDonald, head of the Passport Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA), did just that, entertaining about 150 friends, family members, and associates at her birthday party in Jack's Hill, St Andrew.
Looking fabulous in a flowing multi-coloured dress, McDonald arrived with Stedson McIntyre at 9:30 p.m. As the lady of the moment, the guests who arrived as early as 8 p.m., weren't even slightly concerned.
She was the first to open the dancefloor, proving her friend, Dr Andrea Blackwood Harriott Bennet's statement, "Youth is a work of nature, age is a work of art", to be true.
Blackwood Harriott who has been McDonald's friend for more than 40 years, said that their relationship spanned the years - from McDonald as a militant teenager, to a singer on tour to the days she became an urban planner.
Today, as CEO of PICA, McDonald continues to pull others into her achievements her friends say.
Saturday night showcased the happy, proud and effervescent McDonald, who cut her Alicia Woodbine cake with gusto, even while inviting her family to join in the celebration.
Her sister, Ama Ababio, nephews, Simba Nkrumah, Taku and Kuda Ababio, all flew in from Africa to celebrate the special occasion, while friends such as Lachu Ramchandani, Garth Ramsay, and Joe Hylton left Montego Bay just so they could be with her.
