About this time last year, a young black American entrepreneur who made his first million at age 26 was talking movies and casting Jamaicans in a venture showcasing the historic Rose Hall Great House.

Last week, the producer, director and founder of the Arthur Wylie Foundation was here again, and although the rhetoric did not surround the movie he announced last time, his visit was just as significant.

Wylie brought with him a number of celebrities for what was tagged a Celebrity Golf Weekend, with the likes of Empire's Malik Yoba, Inside Out's Richard Kind, National Basketball Association Hall of Famer, Julius 'Dr J' Erving, and a host of philanthropists, including InRoads's Forest Harper.

The goal was to raise enough money and attention to continue to support the Bob Marley Foundation, the Prince of Wales Foundation and the Branson Entrepreneurial Centre.

The weekend opened with a cocktail reception at the Spring Farm estate of renowned humanitarian and businesswoman Michele Rollins, in Rose Hall, followed by golf at the exclusive Tryall Club, dinner at the Sugar Mill Restaurant, and a million-dollar round table event at Half Moon.
