THE SHIPPING Association of Jamaica (SAJ) continued its tradition spreading joy to the elderly in Greenwich Farm and the students at the Marcus Garvey Basic School on Tuesday, December 13.

The SAJ presented care packages to 50 senior citizens from the community at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. The atmosphere was festive as SAJ staff shared warm wishes for the season, sang their favourite carols, and expressed gratitude to the golden agers.

The packages were presented by the SAJ team of Dionne Mason-Gordon, operations manager – member services; Jean Hinds-Bell, internal auditor; Camille Spence, receivables supervisor; and Sonya Hall, Caribbean Shipping Association administrative and training coordinator.

Approximately 50 students ages three to six received toys, while special tokens were presented to their teachers during their year-end treat.

This annual initiative is part of SAJ’s ongoing commitment to the community. In addition to the Christmas treats, SAJ hosts a twice-monthly free clinic for the elderly and supports the Marcus Garvey Basic School through salary assistance, a feeding programme, and assistance with its Toddlers’ Camp.
