The Jamaica Manufacturers' Association (JMA) Limited, in association with Digicel Business, hosted their 46th annual awards in fine style at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel last Thursday.

The women came out dressed like like royalty and the men were sharp in suits - like the gentlemen we read about in romance novels.

The main event was hosted by the lovely Emprezz Golding and the comedic Gary 'Butch' Hendrickson, chairman of Continental Baking Company. Their charm and wit kept the event flowing smoothly and quickly. After the welcome by JMA President Brian Pengelley, Digicel business' general manager Jason Corrigan gave the greeting, and then it was time for dinner.

As guests got their fill, the room was transformed into a lounge by the sounds of none other than Michael Sean Harris accompanied by a band. They made the room feel like a lounge with guests relaxing while eating and indulging in the soothing melodies.

Guest speaker for the evening was chairman of ICD Group Limited, Joseph Matalon. He kept his speech to the point on the Private Sector Working Group on tax reform (PSWG). He spoke on the benefits of the PSWG and its impact on manufacturers.

Red Stripe was the highlight of the evening, coming out on top with six awards for the night, which included the Governor General Award for Manufacturer of the Year 2013.
