Caribbean arbitrators enjoy J'can Soil and food

The rich sounds of reggae music permeated the atmosphere while the aroma of authentic jerked pork and escoveitched fish infused the senses at a reception hosted by the Jamaica Tourist Board Wednesday night at the Devonshire in St Andrew.
Backed by Director of Tourism Paul Pennicook, some 100 delegates attending the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators - Caribbean Branch (CIArb) conference at the Faculty of Law at Mona, University of the West Indies, were fÍted on the lands that houses the historic Devon House.
The group, which included lawyers, engineers, academics and judges from Barbados, The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago, British Virgin Islands, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, Anguilla, the United States, Canada, Lebanon and Jamaica, was greeted upon arrival by the musical sounds of Harold Davis and Friends.
Truck Stop catering
Their taste buds were given a treat catered by Truck Stop, who delivered on some of the most delicious and mouth-watering bammy sticks and festivals, served with shrimp, pork and fish.
The only thing missing from this fabulous menu was the renowned Devon House ice cream, which has made its way to third place on the world's best ice creams list. However, that was soon rectified by the JTB team and conference chair, Dr Christopher Malcolm.
Within an hour of the event, the popular dessert had taken centre stage with the likes of the strawberry cheesecake that was being served up by the Truck Stop team.
The CIArb conference ends today with a number of the participants scheduled to sample a few Jamaican attractions tomorrow, before departing the country on Sunday.
