Business community celebrates in elegance - Movers and shakers attend JCC 34th Annual Awards ceremony
The movers and shakers of the corporate community came out in pure elegance at the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce's (JCC) 34th annual awards ceremony, held at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston last week. The JCC rolled out the red carpet, fine cocktails and a tasty feast to celebrate the business community.
The ladies in gorgeous gowns perfectly complemented sharp-looking men in their suits.
The night kicked off with greetings from the JCC president, Warren McDonald, and other formalities managed well by host, Michael Anthony Cuffe.
Guest speaker, Dr Parris Lyew-Ayee Jr, director of the Mona Geoinformatics Institute, encouraged the acceptance of innovation which technology brings to businesses. He said this would help companies to stay on the cutting edge of their industries. The speech fit well with the night's theme which was innovate, integrate, motivate.
There were many awards presented, all well received. At the end of it all, Catherine Kennedy, second vice-president of the JCC, gave a heartfelt vote of thanks. This signalled the end of the night's official proceedings and was the signal for guests to resume mingling and congratulating award winners.
