St Catherine swamp Dunoon
St Catherine High's senior netball team sent out a strong message to their rivals with a massive victory on Wednesday in Group A of the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association Urban schoolgirls competition.
Playing at home in their first game of the season, St Catherine whipped many-time champions Dunoon Technical 71-7. St Catherine were on top from the start, leading 16-3, 35-4, 55-6 after the first three quarters.
The big victory for the seniors completed a double win for the St John's Road-based school, as earlier, their juniors defeated Dunoon 32-14.
There was also a good double win on the day for Group D team Camperdown High. With two National Under-16 players in their senior line-up, they were too good for Bridgeport High. They whipped their opponents 51-2 for the second straight win in the competition. Their junior team also made it two from two with a 28-12 victory over Bridgeport.
