Kensington through to Senior Cup semis

Led by a four-wicket haul from national fast bowler, Jason Dawes, Kensington yesterday booked the other semi-final spot of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Senior Cup.
The east Kingston unit defeated St Catherine CA on first-innings points in their replayed quarter-final encounter at Chedwin Park.
Dawes, who also claimed a hat-trick, ended with four for 37 as St Catherine, chasing Kensington's 333 for eight declared, were bowled out for 192. Fellow national pacer Nicholson Gordon took two for 16.
Out-of-favour West Indies batsman, Nkrumah Bonner, and the in-form Kemar Marshall both made 54 for St Catherine, who resumed the day on 14 without loss. The duo briefly threatened to keep St Catherine in the contest with a 103 fourth-wicket stand, which was broken with the score on 151.
The Wayne Morgan-coached unit then lost their last five wickets for 41 runs, with Dawes claiming the last three wickets with consecutive deliveries.
GOOD GAME ALL-ROUND
Kensington, batting a second time, then reached 43 for one.
Kensington will now meet St Catherine CC in the semi-finals, also set for Chedwin Park, with the winner slated to play reigning champions Jamaica Defence Force in the final.
"It was a good all-round game from us," pointed out Kensington batsman Horace Miller. "It was a good first innings total, and we defended it well."
Morgan, in the meanwhile, thought his team tried.
"The result is something we have to accept, as controversies are a part of the game," he said.
Morgan was referring to the fact that the match was ordered to be replayed by the JCA, who upheld a ruling by its Appeal Panel that St Catherine were tardy in their care of the pitch during the original fixture two weekends ago.
That game ended in a rain-affected, no-result draw which, at the time, was good enough to see St Catherine through to the final four.
"However, having said that, I thought we played well enough to win the game.
"The runs were not too much, however; we did not concentrate long enough."
