American Justin Gatlin won the highly anticipated men's 100m race at today's IAAF Diamond League stop in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Gatlin powered his way to a 9.75 win over Jamaican Asafa Powell 9.92; and his countryman Tyson Gay who also clocked 9.92.
In a post race interview, Powell said he was disappointed.
"I thought I was going to get the win today but the real disappointment is that I didn't execute as well as I wanted to," he said.

However, Gatlin did not seem troubled by the other two sub-10 finishers in the race.
"I'm feeling really good right now. I knew that Asafa is a great starter, Gay is a great closer so I needed to get it right," he told The Gleaner.
