West Indies face uphill task as India declare first innings at 500 for 9
The West Indies are facing a challenging second innings in the second Royal Stag Test at Sabina Park after India declared their first innings on the third day on 500-9 shortly before tea at Sabina Park in Kingston.
The visitors now hold a 304-run lead after dismissing the hosts for 196 in their first innings.
The declaration came approximately 40 minutes before tea, however, amid intermittent rain, the umpires decided to take an early tea.
Middle order batsman Ajinka Rahane was left unbeaten on 108.
He emerged as the second best scorer in the innings following Lokesh Rahane 158 on day two.
Bowling for the West Indies, all-rounder Roston Chase playing in his second Test claimed the first five wicket haul of his career after finishing with five for 121.
