#RioGoldRush: Praught now in 3000m steeplechase final after protest

Jamaican Aisha Praught is now in the women's 3000m steeplechase final after filing an appeal to the IAAF's Jury of Appeal following her eighth place finish in the heat.
Praught fell after another athlete stopped to fix her shoe right in front of her with the Jamaican eventually finishing eighth in 9:35.79.
An appeal was launched with the case being heard by the track referee and the IAAF's Jury of Appeal shortly after a video review.
The women's steeplechase final will take place on Monday at 11:15am (9:15pm Jamaica time).
The development was confirmed by the IAAF through a release.
"Protests were filed by the Ethiopian, Irish and Jamaican teams following an incident in Heat 3 of the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase, Round 1.
The Track Referee and Jury of Appeal met and, after examining the video of the race, the following athletes advanced to the Final: Etenesh Diro (Ethiopia); Sara Louise Treacy (Ireland), Aisha Praught (Jamaica).
