BRUSSELS, Belgium:
Julian Forte became the 10th Jamaican to dip below the 20 second mark in the 200m after a determined 19.97 personal best run at the Brussels Memorial van Damme today.
“I am very pleased this was a goal of mine this season, in fact, for the last four seasons, so I'm really happy about this. It means a lot and it has certainly given me a lot of confidence going into the season,” said Forte.
Forte came off the curve with Brit Adam Gemili, who also clocked a personal best 19.97 for second place, but the Jamaican was able to hold on for the win with Churandy Martina, 19.98 taking third place in a close finish.
