Waterford Primary win INSPORTS Under-9 football
Portmore-based Waterford Primary won the second staging of the Institute of Sports (INSPORTS) Under-9 Primary Football One-day Rally after they clipped Kingston's Rousseau Primary 2-1 in the final at the Portsmouth Primary field recently.
Jaquan Stewart and Amir McFarlane scored for the victors. Eight schools from St Catherine and Kingston participated.
The main aim of the competition is to unearth and develop talented players at an early stage.
Naggo Head Primary cop cricket title
Naggo Head Primary prevailed by 24 runs over Independence City Primary in a tense battle in the final of the Jamaica Cricket Association Portmore Primary Cricket League recently.
Naggo Head took first strike and tallied 107-5 off their allotted 25 overs. Mikale Campbell (43) made the most runs for Naggo Head. Independence City were all out for 83, with Germaine Wilson topscoring with 23. After Wilson's dismissal via the run-out route, Naggo Head took back the initiative and eventually won the game.
