STATHS bury KC's Manning Cup hopes, JC book spot in final
Defending champions Jamaica College (JC) held on for a nail-biting 3-2 extra-time win over Holy Trinity, while pre-season favourites Kingston College were shocked 2-1 by St Andrew Technical (STATHS) in Wednesday's semi-final action in the ISSA/FLOW Manning Cup inside the National Stadium.
Gavin Thrope (19th), Norman Campbell (98th) and Shaniel Thomas (100th) were the scores for the JC, who trailed 2-1 in extra-time, with Phillion Lawrence (38th minute) and Omario Cole in the 95th minute getting the goals for Holy Trinity in an exciting opening game.
Meanwhile, in the 7:00 p.m. feature semi, KC's dreams of ending their three decade drought in the competition went crashing with David Smith (65th) and Barrington Bailey (65th) powering STATHS to a famous victory. STATHS will march into the final 30 years after they last lifted the trophy. Ronaldo Robinson scored for KC in the 70th minute.
