Former champions Holmwood Technical hold a slight advantage over defending champions St Elizabeth Technical heading into day two of their three-day rural area three-day ISSA/Grace Headley Cup final clash at Manchester High.

Holmwood, coached by former Jamaica opener Gary Graham, were replying strongly at 70 for two in their first innings in chase of a modest 183 made by St Elizabeth in their first time at bat.

Leading the way for Holmwood is national Under-17 representative, Andre Smiley, who is 38 not out.
Another Jamaica Under-19 representative, batting all-rounder Andre McCarthy, has so far claimed one for 11 bowling medium pace with Aayvon Powell, one for 22, providing support.

Earlier, the Clive Ledgister-conditioned St Elizabeth, were led to their total by McCarthy, who hit 41, Romario Moxam (30), Nigel Palmer  (29), and Jerome Jones, 28.

Off-spinner Ian Jarrett, six for 63, and left-arm unorthodox spinner Shamar Smith, three for 13, were the top wicket takers.
