Fast bowler Kemar Roach took five wickets in the first hour to raze Bangladesh for 43 in 18.4 overs - their lowest in Test cricket.
Roach's five included the wickets Tamim Iqbal, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah - the core of Bangladesh's batting line-up.
Forty minutes after Roach's sensational spell of 5-1-8-5, Miguel Cummins and captain Jason Holder claimed the rest of the five wickets.
In response, West Indies went to lunch unscathed at 9 for 0.
