Silver for Jamaica in Men's 4x100m relay

The quartet of Xavier Nairne, Christopher Taylor, Jhevaughn Matherson and Michael Stephens ended the fifth day of competition at the World Under 20 Championships in Tampere, Finland on a high for Jamaica, after finishing second for silver in the Men's 4x100m relay.

The Jamaicans set a national U20 record of 38.96 seconds.

Running out of lane seven, the Jamaicans pushed winners the United States all the way, after clocking a world-leading 38.88 seconds, as Germany finished third for the bronze in 39.23 seconds. This was the US' first gold medal of the championships.

Following the conclusion of competition on today's fifth and penultimate day of competition, Jamaica are second on the medal table with nine, which includes three gold, three silver, and three bronze, surpassing the medal haul of eight, earned two years ago.
