Zampa replaces injured Afridi for Tallawahs
Twenty-six year-old Australian Adam Zampa will replace the injured Shahid Afridi in the Jamaica Tallawahs line-up in the current Caribbean Premier League (CPL) campaign.
Afridi, the former Pakistan captain, had to withdraw from the Jamaican franchise due to a persistent knee injury.
Zampa, who previously represented the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL, is a consistent performer for Australia in the Twenty20 and ODI formats of the game with both bat and ball.
The leg-spinner has taken 17 wickets in 13 Twenty20 international matches for Australia and an additional 98 wickets in 84 Twenty20s.
The Tallawahs get their campaign underway against defending champions, the Trinbago Knight Riders on Friday in Port of Spain, starting at 7:00 p.m.
