Jamaica's senior women's team went down 2-0 to Canada in their opening match at the CONCACAF Women's World Cup Qualifier at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas.
The Jamaicans, who are looking to qualify for next year's Women's World Cup for the first time in history, found themselves behind in the 33rd minute, when Nichelle Prince found the back of the net. She would add a second 10 minutes from time, in a dominant display by the world number five ranked Canadians.
In the group's other game, Costa Rica hammered Cuba 8-0.
The result means the Jamaicans are yet to beat Canada after seven attempts at the international level.
The Jamaicans will next face Costa Rica on Monday at 4:00 p.m.
