Jamaica's senior women's netball team captain Jhaniele Fowler-Reid said she is hoping to put on a better performance for local fans in Game Two of their two-Test LASCO series against Trinidad and Tobago tomorrow at the National Indoor Sports Centre.

Fowler-Reid, who is rated as the best goal shooter in the world, netted 34 from 39 attempts in leading the Sunshine Girls to a 61-40 victory in their opening match yesterday.

However, Fowler-Reid said she was not pleased with her performance and she is looking to do much better in tomorrow's encounter.

"I felt that I played mediocre, because I think that I was not at the best that I know that I can play," said Fowler-Reid.

"However, I thought that my connection with Shanice (Beckford) was okay and we did play a good second quarter, so I am pleased about that," she said.

"There is always room for improvement and I am definitely going to improve for the second Test," said Fowler-Reid.

"Improvement for me meaning that making sure that my connection with the girls is on point and making sure that I call for the ball and make the correct the play," she said.

Fowler-Reid received from Beckford, who netted 14 goals from 18 attempts, as the Sunshine Girls led 14-12 at the end of the first quarter and 31-23 at half-time. Shantal Slater's nine goals from 11 tries and Thristina Harwood's four goals from eight attempts also propped up the Sunshine Girls' score. Samantha Wallace was the main scorer for Trinidad and Tobago with 24 goals from 38 attempts.

The Sunshine Girls, who are ranked fourth in the world, six places above Trinidad and Tobago, outclassed their opponents in the third period while outscoring them 18-5 to take a 49-28 lead at the end of the stanza.

Jamaica's head coach Marvette Anderson made several changes to the Sunshine Girls team in the fourth quarter, as all 12 players were given court time as the home side romped to a comfortable victory.

The Sunshine Girls will face rivals England in a three-Test series following this series, starting on Thursday.
