Levy Cheeks topped this year’s Guardian Group Constant Spring Golf Club Corporate Challenge on Sunday with a net score of 52.1.
The team of Metry Seaga, Paul Chin, Spencer Chung and Bruce Levy defeated  21 rivals after the 9 a.m. shotgun tee off time on the Constant Spring Golf Course.  They took home the Constant Spring Golf Club Corporate Trophy.
The four-man team competition attracted  88 golfers vying for top honours on the course.  Competing teams included Alliance, Scotiabank, Grab & Go, Barbican Texaco, West Indies Home Contractors, British Caribbean Insurance Company, GM Realty, JPS, Walkerswood, OPES, Ernest & Young, Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB), Scientific Medical, MGI Brokers and Advantage General and DNC Drones.

The surprise of the day was this year’s Junior National Girls' team who played under the Jason Lopez School of Golf banner.  They grabbed third place with a net score of 52.825 after being narrowly beaten by JMMB.  The team members were Mattea Issa, Winni Lau, Emily Mayne, and Kei Harris.

The second place JMMB team of Gregory Hinds, Jerome Smalling, Sean Green, and Wayne Sutherland ended with a net score of 52.45

The hole in one prize of a red 2019 Kia Picanto was not won but created a buzz as golfers tried to put the ball in hole number 15.  Other prizes included four closest to the pins on holes 2, 4, 9 and 11.  Those went to Stephen Hill, Trevin Chin Pan, Bruce Levy and Bert Tomlinson respectively.

The corporate challenge raised more than $250,000 for Lalyce Grey Basic School and Shortwood Practicing Primary School which are in close proximity to the golf club.

The sponsors of the golf challenge were Guardian Group, Walkerswood, Rum Bar Gold, Intcomex, Select Brands, Sandals, Audi, Cellar 8, Fraser, Fontaine & Kong and Body Forte.

The tournament showcased the improvements being done to the golf course at Constant Spring which has seen a reduction in the total acreage.  A section of the course has been given up to allow for the widening of Constant Spring Road as well as for the establishment of a new restaurant at the entrance to the golf course.
