Full time: Jamaica loses 3-0 to Brazil in Women's World Cup debut
Jamaica's Reggae Girlz went down 3-0 to Brazil in Group C of the FIFA Women's World Cup debut in Grenoble, France.
Cristiane, 34 years and 25 days old, became the oldest player at the Women's World Cup to score a hattrick.
She took the record from Carli Lloyd of the United States of America.
She rose above Deneisha Blackwood in the 15th minute and put a powerful header beyond Sydney Schneider to send the Olympic semi-finalists in front.
In the 37th, Allyson Swaby handled the ball in the box, leaving the German referee Riem Hussein with no choice but to point to the spot.
Andressa stepped up to take the penalty but Schneider, easily Jamaica's best player of the half, produced another outstanding stop to keep the one goal margin.
Cristiane doubled the score just five minutes after the restart.
There was confusion among the Jamaican defenders and a loose ball fell to the attacker at the back post.
She tapped it towards goal.
Captain Konya Plummer attempted to make the clearance, however, the ball had already crossed the line.
Cristiane became the hattrick hero in the 64th minute when Konya Plummer's foul just outside the area led to a free kick.
Cristiane stepped up and smashed her kick into the underside of the bar and in.
The margins were so close that Hussein had to check her watch for the alert from goal line technology, that the ball went over the line.
Brazil now ahead 3-0.
The win for the Brazilians ended their nine-game winless run.
The Reggae Girlz will now look to bounce back from their loss, against Italy on Friday.
