LASCO nourishes Arnett Gardens ahead of RSPL season - Pumps $2.5 million into preseason preparations
the Kingston-based Arnett Gardens Football Club received a well-needed boost to its preseason preparations with a $2.5-million sponsorship from LASCO Distributors Limited.
During a handover session at the club on Thursday, July 25, 2019, it was revealed that the two-year commitment will see LASCO assisting the club in purchasing gym equipment, including a treadmill, as well as conducting a series of beautification exercises at the facility.
Having redoubled its efforts to bring ‘Everyday Family Values’ into at-risk communities through social-change initiatives LASCO’s partnership with Arnett Gardens FC is representative of the strengthening year-long relationship to boost confidence and promote peace among the Arnett Gardens residents.
“We were moved by the youths’ phenomenal drive to excel during their training. LASCO is a big supporter of sports, and we saw a fantastic opportunity to reward the tenacity of the talented players of Arnett Gardens FC,” explained Danielle Cunningham, beverage marketing manager at LASCO Distributors Limited.
In addition to the gym equipment, LASCO, through its brand iCool, will be the official hydration sponsor for the team. LASCO has also committed to providing the Arnett Gardens FC team with nutritious products from its LASCO Food Drink, Oats Porridge Mix and LASCO Nutrify brands.
Chairman of Arnett Gardens FC and Member of Parliament for South St Andrew Mark Golding noted, “It is really important that corporate Jamaica support football in communities like Arnett Gardens because sports is important for the social fabric and sustainability. It is important that we ensure, as a country, that our football league is well-supported and that communities have the benefit of this activity going forward regardless of who is the chairman and patron at any given point in time,” he said.
He further expressed that the donation of hydration and nutritional products will assist with the training programme for the five-time national Premier League champions.
“Nutrition and hydration are important to the performance of the players. We play in a hot environment, so this [donation] will ensure that they gain optimal levels of fitness to perform against other top teams,” he said.
