Ten-man Cavalier defeated Dunbeholden 3-1 in their opening Red Stripe Premier League game at Stadium East this evening.

Goals from Chevone Marsh, Alex Marshall, and a Leonard Rankine penalty got the Rudolph Speid coached team off to a winning start.

Cavalier's Kyle Ming was ejected after a second yellow card in the 82nd minute.

Deandre Thomas scored for Dunbeholden. The forward also saw red in the 89th minute for a rash challenge on Gadial Irving.

The hosts took the lead after 23 minutes when Marsh broke through and lifted the ball over Eric Edwards, in goal.

Dunbeholden came close to an equaliser towards the end of the half with Thomas coming close twice, and Kimani Bailey with another.

But Marshall put the game further out of Dunbeholden's reach when he raced through and headed over the advancing Edwards for his team's second in the 56th.

Dunbeholden got back in the contest when Rodave Murray was fouled inside the box and Thomas expertly dispatched the kick to make it 2-1 on 69 minutes.

However, a moment of stupidity from Dunbeholden goalkeeper Edwards allowed Cavalier to restore their two goal cushion a minute later.

Leonard Rankine then scored from the spot to make it 3-1.
