Former National striker Paul 'Tegat' Davis has replaced Donovan Duckie as head coach of Mount Pleasant Football Club.
The 57 year-old Davis will have his second stint with the St. Ann-based club, having led the team to promotion to the Red Stripe Premier League in 2018.
Davis, who also had stints with Arnett Gardens and Montego Bay United as coach, had his first training session with the Mount Pleasant team on Tuesday morning, and according to team Manager David Galloway, the players have responded well to the new coach.
"The team welcomed 'Tegat' with open arms this morning, he is no stranger to the club and things are looking up," said Galloway.
Just 24 hours prior, Mount Pleasant relieved Duckie of the head coach role via a letter from club chairman Peter Gould, who thanked Duckie for his services and wished him well on his future endeavours.
"The Board and Management of Mount Pleasant Football Academy in a meeting led by myself, took the decision to terminate your contract with us with immediate effect," the letter read.
"We wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your service to us and wish you well in your future endeavors."
In the meantime, Davis is expected to continue to work with the backroom staff at Mount Pleasant, which includes assistant coach Nigel Stewart and Alfred Barnett as well as goalkeeper coach Loxley Reid.
Mount Pleasant will travel away to Humble Lion on Sunday for their second game of the new Red Stripe Premier League campaign, after losing their home opener 2-1 to Harbour View.
