DOHA 2019 | Clayton in 400m hurdles final, Salmon gets PB but fails to advance

Rushell Clayton won her semi-final in 54.17 while Shiann Salmon recorded a personal best time of 55.16 seconds, to place third her event.

National champion Rushell Clayton produced an impressive performance to win semi-final two of the women's 400m hurdles and advance to Friday's final at the IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar. 

The 26-year-old Clayton won the event in 54.17 seconds ahead of Zuzana Hejnova of the Czech Republic in 54.41.

Ashley Spencer of the United States was third in 54.42 seconds.

Meanwhile, despite running a personal best time of 55.16 seconds, Shiann Salmon failed to advance to the final after finishing third in semi-final three. 

The event was won by American Sydney McLaughlin in 53.81 seconds. 

The 400m women's hurdles final is set for Friday at 1:30 p.m.
