DOHA2019| Silver for Ricketts in women's triple jump
Shanieka Ricketts captured Jamaica’s ninth medal at the IAAF World Athletics Championship in Doha, Qatar, after she finished second in today’s final of the women's triple jump.
Ricketts, who is the reigning Diamond League champion in the event, won the silver medal with a massive 14.92 metres jump on her third attempt.
Venezuela’s Yulimar Rojas won the gold with a mark of 15.37 metres.
Jamaica's other competitor in the event Kimberly Williams jumped a lifetime best of 14.64 metres, but had to settle for fourth place.
She narrowly lost the bronze medal to Catherine Ibarguen of Colombia, who registered a jump of 14.73 metres.
