Jamaica and Bayer Leverkusen footballer Leon Bailey has picked up another hamstring injury in just over a month. Bayer play Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga on Friday afternoon and Bailey made the announcement on his Instagram page moments before the game, explaining his absence from the squad.

"Found out this morning, the day of the game that I tore my hamstring again and now ruled out for some weeks," the post said. "It's really been a rough month and half for me but I do trust in God and God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. Thanks to everyone who's been truly supportive during this difficult period. I promise I will come back stronger than ever before."

The 22-year-old tore his hamstring the first time this season in a UEFA Champions League game against Lokomotiv Moscow on September 18 and spent the last four weeks in the recovery room. He was due to make his comeback against Eintracht today.

Bailey also picked up a hamstring injury and missed the latter part of the Bundesliga last season in April. However, he recovered in time to make his international debut for Jamaica. He also appeared in the Concacaf Gold Cup, where he helped Jamaica to the semi-finals where they went out to the United States.
